you go girl !

March 11, 2019

This year, I think that International Women’s Day is more important than ever. With all of the changes in the midterm elections and the women emerging into fame, a day to celebrate accomplishments big or small was just what we needed. I watched as women thanked the beautiful souls in their life and acknowledged the badass things that other women have strived for.

At this stage in my life, seeing women succeed in all walks of life is truly amazing. Watching those around me accomplish big promotions or score new clients shows that anyone can succeed no matter their gender. I look up to all of the women around me that are working their asses off at their jobs to create the life they want. It shows that nothing can stop you if you take control.

I have a lot of women in my life the inspire me and are my biggest role models. Nora, Sara and Kelly are such energetic and genuine women. They are people that I may not see all the time but when we get together it is like nothing has every changed. MaryPat and Maddie and my sisters, they have always supported me no matter what I am doing. Elliott is one of the strongest people that I know. She has gone through a lot and struggles with things that I can’t even imagine, but she is a positive, unique and intelligent women that is going to go far in life.

My best friends in Delta Gamma have pushed me in ways that I never thought were possible. Though some of the most fun times of my life to some of the hardest, these girls have helped me through. Carly and Abby are two of the most important women in my life right now. I could not thank them enough for giving me the opportunity to coach with them. You learn a lot as a coach, make a lot of mistakes but with your best friends by your side, you can accomplish a lot. And my biggest role model is the girl I get to call my best friend. Whitney is one of the most passionate and hardworking ladies I know. She takes life by the horns and runs with it. I admire how spontaneous and life-loving she is.

I hope that everyone finds their H E R (O) S because life is a lot more fun when you are surrounded by badass women! Thank you to you all, ciao!

SEASON number two

March 6, 2019

Year Two is in the books!! Joining this family of passionate women is truly a blessing. I was overcome with emotions last night at our end of season banquet. I couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear when talking about every single gymnast. These girls inspire me to no end. They are determined, brave, confident, energetic, positive and strong. Joy fills my heart when I walk into that gym everyday, coaching a sport that we all love. Don’t get me wrong, we have our hard days. Long hours, aches and pains, frustrations and mental blocks. Seeing the transformation of these girls from the beginning of the season to now makes it all worth it. These girls make long lasting friendships, endless memories and life long skills. I could not be more proud of how far these girls have come, and I am excited to see where the next years take us.

Thank you gymnastics for surrounding me with badass women that push me to be the best version of myself. I am beyond thankful for this opportunity. Ciao.

SIX years

February 11, 2019

This past January Nick and I spent our six year anniversary at the Foshay Tower in downtown Minneapolis. Since we live in different cities, and I have been busy between two jobs, we decided to do a stay-cation downtown. The Foshay tower was beautiful! They had two bars, one on the main floor and one on the 27th floor. We enjoyed a sweet surprise from the staff of cupcakes and champagne to cheers (and make mimosas in the morning).

For dinner we went about a block away to a quaint Italian restaurant, Zelo. The food was delicious and the drinks were fantastic! I am excited to see where the next years take us. Our six year anniversary will be hard to beat, on to the next ciao!
