peastock poster design

Every year my family has a concert series called Peastock at my parents in Door County Wisconsin. Considering I love design, music and all things Door County, this is one of my favorite things to create each year.

2025: Taking inspiration from the chaos that comes to Sweet Pea during our get together, I wanted to incorporate all of the activities. From dancing, to music, to laughing, to cheering, to snacking to singing, all are shown in these character drawings! Peastock’s branding is really coming together with a logo that you can find sprinkled throughout the past few years.

2024: For the 10th annual Peastock poster, I wanted to create something special and commemorative. I started with a flat coastline version of Ephraim, Wisconsin. This town is very special to our family, and we have grown up admiring this sweet coastline view. Originally it was a multi-colored poster, but as I continued playing with colors I ended up putting together five contrasting combinations. From there I created ten posters that were printed and available for family to choose from. It ended up becoming a wonderful accident to celebrate the 10 years of our family get together.

2022: The concept for this year is the venue, Sweet Pea (the name of my parents place). When we first gather, the sun beats down on us and the wildflowers that surround our concert area. Once the sun goes down behind the trees we play long into the night until the stars come out. Our natural wildflowers and landscape is one of my favorite things about our place. It shows a small detail of Door County, and the area of North America that we have grown to love.

2021: A personalized take on a popular poster trend! I took inspiration for this years poster from a current poster trend of illustrated town/city guides. Pulling out the main areas that are important to our family in Ephraim Wisconsin; family homes, the Ephraim beach, favorite restaurants and parks. I wanted this to be a keepsake for our family members but also highlight the unique aspects of Ephraim.

2019: This poster was created after the event because of a family wedding. We weren’t sure if we would have our annual Peastock, but we ended up sneaking it in on a Sunday. Instead of having the full band with lights and amps, we decided to have an acoustic version inside. It took it back to our roots, and make it feel very impromptu. This poster is inspired by the quiet version of our concert, with a blue tone and handwritten font.

2018: This year I decided to show a view from my dad’s favorite viewpoint on Church Street. From this perspective you can see the vastness of Eagle Harbor, The Moravian Church Steeple, the Anderson Dock, Horseshoe Island and the Peninsula State Park Observation Tower through the trees. I wanted this design to bring our family joy and remind them of the one week a summer we try to get together each year.
